CONDITIONS!!!!!!

This is where all the announcements will be placed. Major announcements will be made global. At this early stage, the welcome center will have a lot of attention, but don't worry, it will become less important later.

CONDITIONS!!!!!!

Postby Dubbykinz on Sat Aug 29, 2009 7:45 pm

Because my condition list was too big for a single MU post, I'm posting it here. >D

Teeheehee~~

WARNING: THIS WILL BE LENGTHY, AND PLEASE READ OVER EVERYTHING CAREFULLY!!!

  • YOUR GROUP MUST BE ACTIVE
    • I will in NO way provide my scans for a group that is not active!! RELEASE FREQUENTLY!
  • If your group is a "X Number of Posts" forum type thingy to be able to access releases, then leave now. I will not lend my raws to any of these type of groups
  • You must keep up with the series' original magazine release frequency (This section is hard to explain, so keep up with me)
    • We all know that before a manga gets sealed up in a tankobon volume, it's serialized chapter by chapter through a manga magazine
    • And we all know that after enough chapters have been released through the magazine, they get accumulated and binded into a tankobon volume
    • And we all know that different magazines have different release frequencies - biweekly, monthly, bimonthly, etc etc...
    • Well, the condition with my raws is that you must release a chapter at the same pace that the original magazine released it. If you can not keep up with the original magazine's release frequency, then you will not be given the series
    • Example... example...say Series A was serialized in Magazine A, and Magazine A has a release frequency of one issue per 2 weeks (biweekly). And let's say that the first volume of Series A consists of 6 chapters. Well, then that means I expect a release of one chapter every 2 weeks at the minimum. That means that if it's 1 chapter / 2 weeks, the entire first volume, consisting of 6 chapters, should be completed in 12 weeks.
    • Sounds like enough time, doesn't it? You'd be amazed at the number of groups who find it hard to keep to a schedule like that
    • At the listing of each series (below), I will provide the # of chapters/volumes I own for said series, the release frequency of the magazine (so you know the release schedule you have to keep up to), etc etc...
    • Keep in mind that while you series you might not have to keep up to a tight schedule, and some might be only one chapter every 2 months, this normally means longer chapters. Averagely a biweekly series has 30pages per chapter, a monthly series has 45-50 pages per chapter, etc etc... KEEP THAT IN MIND
  • If your group is picked for a specific series and you are accepted to do it, KEEP TO THE SCHEDULE PROVIDED. If you manage to go even a day over the deadline I provide (yes, I will provide deadlines), I will take the project away from you and not provide you with further raws, instead handing the series over to another group
  • Noting from above... I do not provide raws in bulk
    • That means that I won't give you raws for an entire volume and tell you "k finish this in 2 months". No, I will provide chapter-by-chapter, and will only provide the raw for the next chapter after you release the previous chapter. This helps me with keeping in schedule & kicking you off a project easily if you go over the deadline
    • The only way I will provide in bulk is if a group proves themselves outstanding and keeps to my schedule and I have no doubts they'll keep to my schedule (normally this'll happen after 3-4 chapters have already been released)
  • THIS IS IMPORTANTLY CRUCIAL - I DO NOT BELIEVE IN "CLAIMING PROJECTS". I KNOW MANY OF MY SERIES ARE ALREADY BEEN DONE BY OTHER GROUPS, BUT I DO NOT CARE. DO NOT COME IN AND TELL ME "HEY, MY GROUP'S ALREADY DOING SERIES X, DON'T GIVE RAWS TO ANOTHER GROUP!", I do NOT care!!!
    • Most of the series I own that have "claimed groups" I listed down because 1) the group sucks in quality and/or 2) they're super slow. The only reason I insist on setting deadlines for groups & picking the groups out myself is because I want the series to actually be released.
    • Do not be afraid to ask me for a raw, even if another group is doing it / will do it! I will not care!!
    • (no 2 groups will get the same series, so don't worry. ._.; I mean, if a series is doing a good job & is a frequent releaser and I own their raw, then chances are, I won't even have the raw in my list!!!!
  • YOUR GROUP MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST AND MUST PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY SCANS!!!!!!
    • This means excellent cleaning, typesetting, translation jobs, english grammar/spelling, and everything else related to high quality
    • DUST CHECKING IS CRUCIAL TO ME!! If you're just a cleaner that only bothers to level & does not dust check properly, then don't bother to apply for a series of mine
    • I am an experienced editor, I can tell good from shit, so no half-assing.
  • More details will be provided if your group is picked for a series

Now, did you read all of the above? Still think you're up for it? ; ) Fine, then. Let us proceed with the importance itself: naming off the raws!

Go back to the original thread on MU to continue (and the manga list!).
