Cleaner :: OPEN/CLOSED
Cleaners take the cleaning part of the editing position only. They clean the scans of text and if the SFX is small, that too. You must have some experience in the area of Photoshop [or a program similar to it] to be able to apply for this job. You will also be sent a test to see just how good you can work. See your weaknesses & positive points, and see what you need improvement in.
Able to send in at least one chapter every 1-2 weeks (unless having exams, etc). Dedicated and active.
Typesetter :: OPEN/CLOSED
Typesetters take the typesetting part of the editing position only. They insert translated text back where they go into the cleaned scans. Certain fonts are needed. You must have some experience in the area of Photoshop [or a program similar to it] to be able to apply for this job. You will also be sent a test to see just how good you can work. See your weaknesses & positive points, and see what you need improvement in.

Proofreader :: OPEN/CLOSED
Proofreaders check the translations the translator made, and check for typos, grammar mistakes. Proofreaders check the translations the translator made, and check for typos, grammar mistakes, etc etc before it gets sent to the editors / typesetters. Proofreaders who have a basic understanding of the original Raw language are also useful. Not only can they make sure the English is correct, but they can also check the raws to make sure everything was translated correctly. [similar to QC - editors who don't want to edit a full chapter]. HOWEVER, that’s not all a proofreader does. Many people mistake proofreading as just “checking for typos and grammatical errors” when that’s not all there is to it. You gotta make sure the text flows smoothly, the story makes sense, check for run-on sentences, etc etc… By “flowing smoothly”, it means it actually DOES sound like something someone will say. So again, be familiar with slang. Some translators are not very familiar with english slang & all that, so proofers always have to be extra careful with their translations. Make them less-awkward than what they sound.
Able to send in the proofread script back in a few days after receiving (unless having exams, etc). Dedicated and active.
QCers :: OPEN/CLOSED
QC stands for Quality Checkers. They basically check the final draft of the scans and whatnot, and see if there is stuff that should be edited and whatnot before it’s released to the public. They require to be fluent in English, and have some editing expertise, and a good eye for catching mistakes. Also known as “editors of editors”.
Able to send in the finished chapter days after receiving (unless having exams, etc). Dedicated and active.
